Final Fantasy Trading Card Game ships 110 million cards worldwide

After the recent release of the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game series “Opus IV”, Square Enix has announced that the series has shipped over 110 million cards worldwide

The latest update to the “Opus IV” series introduced newly illustrated card designs based on beloved titles such as Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Final Fantasy Theatrhythm. This card set also introduced new “Monster” type cards, which have different abilities and styles for players to use.

The FFTCG Opus Series had also had it’s first world championships on November 18th and 19th at the Square Enix Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. Leading up to the event, regional tournaments were held across Japan, Europe, Oceania and North America, where over 2000 people participated. Four of the game’s first ever North American Champions from the inaugural championship in September 2017 had also qualified to attend and take part in the world finals as regional representatives.

The Final Fantasy Trading Card Game’s next wave, Opus V, is scheduled for a March 2018 release.
