Final Fantasy XIV details more of Patch 4.2's content updates

Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood‘s second major post-release patch is soon upon us — Rise of a New Sun is scheduled to release by the end of January. In it, the main scenario continues with a return trip to Othard, a trial against Byakko of the Four Lords, and more.

Today, Square Enix shared more on updates to existing content, including new beast tribe quests featuring the Ananta, a new map for The Feast PVP mode, a Glamour Dresser that will allow you to store and assemble various outfits, and Subaquatic Voyages to complement Airship Voyages.

The next Letter from the Producer Live broadcast, which will further detail the content coming in Patch 4.2, will air on Friday, January 19th.

Beast Tribe Quests: The Ananta

“The Vira, one of the tribes of snake-like Ananta, have long supported the efforts of the Resistance by sending warriors to bolster their ranks. One such battlemaid is Alpa, the broodmother’s daughter, who makes up for her lack of prowess in combat with her courage and ingenuity. She dreams of making a grand contribution to the Resistance, but many bizarre and perilous trials must be overcome before her plans can come to fruition.”

The Feast: Crystal Tower Training Grounds

“The Crystal Tower, remnant of an ancient empire, rings with the sound of battle held between factions of the Eorzean Alliance. Enter the fray and relive the glories of the distant past.”

Glamour Dresser

“Inn rooms in each of the city-states and Kugane contain glamour dressers, which allow the conversion of clothing, weapons, and tools into glamours. Glamours held within the glamour dresser can be displayed simultaneously and applied as full ensembles, making it easier to choose the perfect outfit.”

Subaquatic Voyages

“Construct a submersible in your company workshop and hunt for hidden treasures in the depths of the ocean. Who knows what mysteries await?”
