Final Fantasy XIV Patch 4.3 Sightseeing Guide

The third major content patch after Final Fantasy XIV‘s Stormblood expansion arrives on Tuesday, May 22nd. Titled “Under the Moonlight”, the patch will include a wealth of new content including the continuation of the main scenario and the Return to Ivalice raid series, new dungeons, sidequests, and many new features. You can check out the official trailer here.

With the exception of action changes to PvE and PvP content (you can read more in the official patch notes), we’ve created a quick reference guide to unlock all the new content and point out some of the major features.

Quality of Life

Duties

• The loot rule for alliance raids is now locked to Greed Only.
• The Echo will now apply in The Jade Stoa and The Jade Stoa (Extreme).
• The drop rate for legendary kamuy fifes from clearing the Minstrel’s Ballad: Shinryu’s Domain duty has been increased.
• You can now forcibly enter a sealed boss arena via a prompt if you have been sealed out.
• There is no more weekly reward limit for the Omega: Sigmascape raid – however, you can still only obtain one crystalloid a week.
• If you are trying to enter a raid further than your current completion, the duty window will now display if you are forfeiting a weekly reward for a floor you will skip.
Duty Roulette: Normal Raids will include duties from Alexander: Gordias, Alexander: Midas, Alexander: The Creator, Omega: Deltascape, and Omega: Sigmascape. Roulette bonuses include: 80 Allagan tomestones of poetics, 60 Allagan tomestones of creation, and 15 Allagan tomestones of mendacity.
Duty Roulette: Expert will include Hells’ Lid, The Fractal Continuum (Hard), and The Swallow’s Compass dungeons.
• The required average item level to register for Duty Roulette: Mentor has been increased from 325 to 335.
Duty Roulette: Main Scenario bonuses include 300 Allagan tomestones of poetics, 100 Allagan tomestones of creation, and 50 Allagan tomestones of mendacity
• You can create Aetherpool Grips after getting an Aetherpool Arm/Armor to +10 and clearing Floor 50 of the Palace of the Dead. These grips can be used in trade to strengthen these weapons.
• While a pomander of intuition is in effect, an icon on the map will indicate whether your current floor holds any pieces of the Accursed Hoard.

Grand & Free Companies

• Adventurer squadrons can now accept command missions to The Aurum Vale, Brayflox’s Longstop (Hard), and Sohm Al.
• Glamour dressers and armoires can now be used from the Grand Company barracks; you can use this feature here to assign glamours to your squadron.
• You can now dye gear for your squadron members and items can be crafted or repaired in the Grand Company barracks.
• New subaquatic voyages have been added, including new items. Max submersibles have been upped from 20 to 30 and vessels have been upped from 2 to 3.

Housing

• A vendor NPC has been added called the “Journeyman Salvager” and functions the same as the Calamity Salvager.
• Certain items will allow you to hire namazu as NPCs in your estate.
• Message books furnishings have been added where you can leave messages for the owner as well as “like” their estate. You can also leave a greeting for guests.
• The number of aquariums you can place has increased thus: Private Chamber/Apartment (1→4), Cottage (1→6), House (1→8), Mansion (1→10). Due a critical issue, the number of aquariums will temporarily be limited to four per estate. Players will be informed when the issue has been resolved.
• New aquarium fish and dahlia bulbs for flowerpots have been added.
• You can now switch the music of your housing district to its corresponding city-state.

PvP

• Bind will no longer fall off when taking damage.
• Frontline campaigns will now change daily The Borderland Ruins (Secure), Seal Rock (Seize), The Fields of Glory (Shatter).
Borderland Ruins (Secure)‘s time limit has been reduced to 20 minutes.
Duty Roulette: Frontline has been changed to Daily Challenge: Frontline. It requires the Heavensward expansion to participate.
• You can now invite players to spectate PvP team battles and create a custom match as a spectator.
• Graphical adjustments have been made to the Crystal Tower Training Grounds. Object placement is now the same in each match.
• In The Feast players now return to their team’s starting point when KO’d. Time remaining and medals held are now displayed in the HUD, and
adjustments have been made to the party list where you’ll be able to see the adrenaline rush status and selected actions of your allies and enemies.

The Manderville Gold Saucer

• New Triple Triad cards have been added.
• Fashion Report scoring has been nerfed a bit – it’s easier to earn marks.
• You can now queue for Chocobo Racing in the Duty Finder. The matchmaking goes by the lowest ranked chocobo in your party.
• NPC opponents have been added to the Lord of Verminion tournaments; the difficulty will scale based on your victories.

Perform

• Bard’s Perform feature will now let you play a flute, oboe, clarinet, fife, or panpipes. You can now hold a note by holding down the corresponding key or button.
• The sound quality has been adjusted for pre-existing instruments like the harp, piano, lute, and fiddle.
• You’ll now be able to perform in the Gold Saucer, Ivory Chapel, and the Grand Company barracks.
• All musical notes can be set to individual keybinds on a keyboard.

Miscellaneous

• You can now restore items from the glamour dresser, and convert items to the glamour dresser from the armoire.
• All glamours on a glamour plate can now be dispelled at once, you’ll need enough dispellers for each item though. You can also link a gearset from the character menu to a glamour plate.
• New icons in the item help window will tell you if it can be stored in the armoire, converted to a glamour in the glamour dresser, or if a crest can be applied to the item.
• Cross-world linkshells can now be created with up to 64 players from different worlds on your data center.
• The Duty Recorder has been changed so that you can record Sigmascape V4.0 (Savage) but will no longer record The Jade Stoa nor The Jade Stoa (Extreme).
• A shop in Rhalgr’s Reach will allow you to upgrade item level 350 equipment to item level 360 with Resistance tokens.
• The challenge log has been updated with Eureka-based objectives that reward elemental EXP.
• Rewards for Khloe’s Wondrous Tails have been adjusted, and objectives will now include duties in the Omega: Deltascape.
• New miner and botanist gathering points have been added as well as new fish. All fishing locations on the Azim Steppe are now level 60.
• New emotes, hairstyles, mounts, chocobo barding, and minions have been added.
• Cutscenes from the Palace of the Dead and the Forbidden Land, Eureka have been added under Other Duties in The Neverending Journey.
• Map icons have been adjusted for pets.
• Full-screen color filtering options have been added to the Accessibility Settings for Windows and Mac only.
• You can now synthesize, repair, dye, cast glamour, assimilate materia, and retrieve materia in an inn room.
• Male characters can now equip the bunny items available from the Manderville Gold Saucer.

Final Fantasy XIV is now available for Windows PC, Steam, Mac, and PlayStation 4.
