Square Enix reveals Deluxe Editions for Kingdom Hearts III By Tony Garsow on June 11, 2018 at 2:34 PM

Square Enix has revealed two non-standard edition products for Kingdom Hearts III — a deluxe edition with a steelbook, concept art, and a collectible pin as well as a version with three Bring Arts figures of Sora, Donald, and Goofy as they appear in the Toy Box world.

Deluxe Edition ($79.99 USD)

• Exclusive steelbook packaging
• Mini art book with concept artwork by Tetsuya Nomura
• Collectible KINGDOM HEARTS III pin

Deluxe Edition + Bring Arts Figures ($229.99 USD)

• The KINGDOM HEARTS III Deluxe Edition and Bring Arts Sora, Donald, and Goofy Set bundled separately will be available in limited quantities for $229.99. Fans can now preorder the Xbox One and PlayStation®4 system versions exclusively from the SQUARE ENIX Online Store.

Kingdom Hearts III releases on January 29th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

  • I hope the artbook has some good Nomura art and not just some shitty renders you can come across online with ease.

Also I would have preferred the standard trio outfits buts all good.

  • Respect but no. I just want the game.

They look like shit…..the Art Book looks so cheap and plain and the Steel Book is hideous! Why not slap on some amazing Tetsuya Nomura artwork on that ugly ass Steel Book? Very disappointed with both editions of this game….will sadly be getting the Standard.

I hope they don’t go this lazy ass route with the FFVII:Remake Editions when they’re released in 2025 :p

They are modeled and after the toy story world

I know….that doesn’t change the Art Book looking cheap/plain or the ugly Steelbook lol for $299CAD that Bring Arts Edition ain’t worth it imo, and for $99.99CAD that Deluxe Edition is very lackluster and disappointing.

Final Fantasy World’s Pop-up Book was defective for many people, but at least they put some thought and effort into that Limited Edition, even the FFXII Square-Enix Store Exclusive had more impressive goodies… Kingdom Hearts has gotten really bad Limited Editions all the way back to when they started releasing the HD ports on PS3 up to now.

Yeah kinda lackluster. Don’t think Nomura draws too much anymore though. Rarely see any artwork from him, and the ones we do get aren’t very expressive. Wouldn’t be surprised if someone else did most of the character designs for kh3 even.

  • Patrick Bateman

yeah…it’s his art lol it specifically says “• Mini art book with concept artwork by Tetsuya Nomura” and you can tell it’s his art by his signature style.

  • Justice V

They say that about almost all the art books for games he had any part in working on, but lately they’ve had like 3 images drawn by him with 100 other pages of other artists or cg renders filling the pages. (XIII Lightning returns was the worst, used his art on the cover. Had the same image on half a page on the inside and every other piece of art in the book was done by other people. Ok since it wasn’t his game, but annoying since his art was front and center).

The concept art he added to this book COULD be the entirety/majority of the book, or just his redesign of Sora, Riku and Kairi and would still be a valid use of “Mini art book with concept artwork by Tetsuya Nomura” as it doesn’t state how much of the book is his art. I’d prefer not to have his art on the cover though if it’s just another boring static standing straight up pose like he does for character designs. I would love it if he gave us a cool dramatic piece though at some point, whether on the disc, in the art book, on the box art slip sleeve, just on the website, anywhere.

  • Patrick Bateman

Fair enough, only got the standard edition of Lightning Returns, looks like i didn’t miss out on much LOL Either way, I’d prefer anything that what they decided to use for the Steelbook and PS4 console skin. That PS4 looks terrible haha. The 2.5 Steelbook looked amazing imo, compared to the ugly ass checkered black and white design they stuck with. Even if they used a CG diorama or something. I find Steelcases these days are lacking :

  • Justice V

Yeah I agree. Some steelbooks are awesome. Shadow of War for example is pretty basic but still looks super pretty, and then others just suck all around.
