I wish there was more news about the actual episode.
How big is it? How long is it? I imagine it’ll be as short as Episode Ignis which is a shame considering how long this has been in the works.

Episode Ignis was actually the longest episode and had an alternate ending, with cutscenes – but yeah these take long to make. It’s hard to appreciate just how much goes into it, when each episode doesn’t take long to complete (1-2 hour is not satisfying enough), which is why putting the DLC as part of the game (day one) would give people much more of a better sense of appreciation!

Gah, and all the wasted assets that went unused in Niflheim & the Dawn 2.0 young Luna harassment scenes, hard to swallow.

with Episode Ardyn, it’s come to the point where I just want to know.
News shall follow soon… its out end of March right?

I know Ignis was the longest (and it was pretty great) but its still short compared to how long it was in development. Episode Ardyn should be a sizeable game/expansion just based on development time but I highly doubt it will be.

  • SNK

They’re not developing it since Episode Ignis. So, they’re not developing it as long as we think.

Correct, It’ll be the second expansion of Insomnia by the looks. The first being the Royal Edition lmao… again good expansion but the scope & quality of the playable content doesn’t satisfy THE WAIT and build up to the DLC release.

We got a brief ‘expansion’ of the city tops of Lestallum in that Assassins Creed DLC, remember those? It was nice but, coulda had it in the game – so we could appreciate it more

I look at how From Soft released Old Hunters, Guerrilla released Frozen Wilds, and Sucker Punch released First Light all in similar development time frames to how long episode Ardyn has been in development and it just makes me wonder

  • Uzair Syed

Even if it were in development since the Royal Edition, which we know it was announced even before then, it’s still a crazy amount of time unless it’s quite substantial if a DLC (which I doubt)

Of course, they were also presumably working on the other DLCs at the same time, which they scrapped.

  • Uzair Syed

Actually Tabata said the plan was to work on them one at a time (story aside)

  • Noneofyourbusiness

    Ah, I see.
