Nomura Uncertain on Final Fantasy Versus XIII for E3
Speaking in this week’s Famitsu regarding Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, director Tetsuya Nomura was asked to comment on his upcoming projects, namely Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
Nomura says that development is going well, however there is still more to be done. From the beginning, the character presentation on the world map was similar to FF* (the magazine has intentionally censored the asterisk parts), where you would see a very small Noctis running around. It was somewhat lacking and so it was altered to be more like FF*’s system.
Due to these revisions, Nomura is unsure if development will have progressed to a point where it can be shown at this year’s E3, despite having planned it to be there. They have to balance it with other titles being released, and he is currently discussing this with the producers.

I really can’t blame him . In fact ,the map world in FFv13 confused me a lot because of
breaking the world in to ( World ->Region A,B,C->Area A,B,C->Towns and Cities) is
weird design choice and exciting at same time XD so may be they will cancel world
or Regions ?

I don’t think they’ll cancel it. Maybe make it more like the world map in FFXII or Dragon Quest VIII.

I love the art style in Versus 13, hate the art in both regular 13 and Agito.
Hopefully it makes E3 and hopefully it’s still a goddamn Ps3 exclusive (don’t want no downgrades due to Xbox involvement. )

Yeah, Versus XIII has always been the most appealing to me out of the three XIII games.

Yeah most of JP articles says miniature Noctis for example which is weird ? but he did some
good coverage so i want to BELIEVE

The original article is linked in this very post. It specifically says they had ‘a very small Noctis running around,’ and it looked awkward so they altered it. Famitsu just censored out the FF game style they changed it to.
