Hands-on: Dissidia Final Fantasy NT
Recently, I had the chance to spend a morning playing the up-coming Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, and it became more and more apparent the longer I spent with this group brawler that teamwork is by far the most important element when it comes to playing the game well and being victorious. After two PSP entries of Dissidia found characters from across the Final Fantasy series facing each other one on one, this up-coming PS4 version takes the battle to a larger scale and has you fighting in teams of three in an effort to defeat the other group and come out on top. With most of the cast from the original Dissidia titles already confirmed to be returning, players familiar with the series won’t be in completely uncharted waters – but there are still surprises. The villains are still greatly enjoyable to play as, but certain characters such as Kuja have been tweaked after their original appearances on the PSP. IX’s antagonist now feels slightly less mobile whilst attacking and took some getting used to. The Emperor, on the other hand, still uses traps but feels considerably more important in a team-based situation where he can successfully sneak around in the

Voice actor D.C. Douglas says he’s working on Final Fantasy XV
With Final Fantasy XV's English localization well underway, it's not particularly surprising we're now just finding out who might be working on the project. Recently, fans have spotted a listing for the game over on D.C. Douglas' official page, suggesting the American actor is involved in the game in some capacity. As you can see, his credits page lists Final Fantasy XV along with its promised release of 2016. His role, however, remains a mystery. D.C. Douglas is probably most well-known for his role as Albert Wesker in the Resident Evil series. He's also contributed to other Japanese titles such as BlazBlue, Tales of, Street Fighter, Xenoblade Chronicles X and is set to appear in projects such as Zero Time Dilemma and Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst later this year. Square Enix has yet to reveal the any official details on Final Fantasy XV's English cast, but it's possible we'll learn more during the game's upcoming Uncovered event where the company will tell all - including a release date.
Nikkei: Final Fantasy XV and Dragon Quest XI projected to sell over a million each
The latest issue of the monthly Japanese publication Nikkei Trendy ran an article about the current video gaming market in Japan, which included a bit on future titles from Square Enix. The magazine writes that smartphone games have been largely dominant in Japan - forcing console games to the side as Japanese consumers buy in to more and more mobile experiences to suit their busy lives. Despite that both Final Fantasy XV and Dragon Quest XI are expected to sell within historical reason. Nikkei projects both titles to sell more than a million units each in the domestic market, though it's unknown if they mean initially or over time. It's worth noting the magazine speculates that Final Fantasy XV’s action-based battle system is likely to polarize the thoughts of long-time fans due to the increase in difficulty, and instead appeal to those who enjoy action titles. Whether that's true or not remains to be seen, with further information on the game expected in the next few months. A lot of buzz and controversy has been shrouding Final Fantasy XV given its checkered development history and bold ambitions while Dragon Quest XI may not see a release until 2017. Nevertheless, it’ll certainly be interesting

Final Fantasy VII Remake PlayStation Experience 2015 Trailer Analysis
Today during the PlayStation Experience keynote, Final Fantasy VII Remake made a big appearance with a new trailer showing off cutscenes and gameplay - all in-engine. For such an occasion we decided to piece together a quick analysis - taking a look at Final Fantasy VII Remake's battle system, gameplay, gameplay mechanics and anything else you might've missed on your first perusal. Starting off with the trailer itself, the first thing we notice is the abundance of real time footage - showing off iconic characters, scenes and moments from the game that’ll knock your socks off. The setting of the video mostly consists of Midgar and the beginning of the game with Cloud and crew facing off against Shinra soldiers. According to both Kitase and Nomura, “This footage only represents a small part of the game.” It's clear things are very early. Moving on to gameplay we see a lot of Cloud and his friends at AVALANCHE. It is nice to see the impressive character models along with the English voices. Speaking of voices voices - the English trailer clearly features the voice talents of Steve Burton, who has voiced Cloud in other games and in Advent Children. We also see Cloud running around Midgar
