NieR Recarnation, a free to play smartphone RPG from Square Enix and developer Applibot, will be ending service on April 29, 2024, in announcement by the game's official social media accounts.
Originally released back in 2021, the game features a mysterious young girl who is trapped in a massive tower called "The Cage". As she explores, she encounters the stories of many different characters who can then be recruited into a party and take part in turn-based battles.
The final chapter of "The People and The World" will release on March 28, 2024, and will complete the story. Until then, there will be several content updates and campaigns, including the celebration of the game's 3rd anniversary and the debut of a new character. This, according to a timeline the team posted as part of their end of service announcement.
NieR Recarnation is the latest closure it what seems to be a culling of free to play smartphone games at Square Enix, following the end of Dragon Quest Tact, Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier, and Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia, just to name a few.
