Secret of Mana Remake Review
Originally launched for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, Secret of Mana is a beloved action role-playing game of captivating colors, beautiful music, and unforgettable characters. Two and a half decades later, Square Enix has revisited their old RPG stomping grounds by releasing an updated version of the classic title on Playstation 4, Playstation Vita, and PC. And staying true to the source material, this edition of Secret of Mana is just as charming as it’s 16-bit predecessor. I had played the original Secret of Mana during the glory days of the Super Nintendo; it was one of the first games I had played with a multiplayer feature that wasn’t just a tacked on Player-VS-Player mode. Secret of Mana was a role-playing game that allowed me to progress the story alongside my siblings or friends, making my first experience with the game a special one. So when I had heard Square Enix’s official announcement of the remake in August last year, I was absolutely ecstatic and couldn’t wait for it's release. Secret of Mana Remake’s 1.02 patch promises to fix various game bugs
The Secret of Mana remake is getting a much needed bug-solving patch according to Square Enix, and the update is scheduled to arrive early March. The remake of the Super Nintendo classic was filled with quite a few game-stopping bugs at launch, and these issues will be adjusted and fixed with the inclusion of patch 1.02. According to Siliconera, the upcoming fixes are: Fixed the frequency of application errors Fixed characters teleporting to maps that are blacked out Fixed character coloration staying altered Fixed an issue where half the screen would turn black Fixed an issue where party characters would revive with zero HP Fixed conversations not ending on certain maps Fixed clipping issues on maps with two floors Fixed issues of enemies stopping upon using certain attack and magic combinations Fixed how the bow works when fighting certain monsters New features are also coming to the Ring Command menu, such as character icons to show who’s inventory you have open, showing item effects and a button to turn off the guide. Square Enix considering Secret of Mana for Switch and discusses localization of Seiken Densetsu Collection
Square Enix is considering the possibility of bringing the upcoming Secret of Mana remake to the Nintendo Switch, according to a USgamer interview with producer Masaru Oyamada. “To kind of give background in terms of when the project started, it was about two years ago, and the Switch hadn’t been announced,” Oyamada said. “Once we had announced this particular remake title, we were very surprised to see the amount of demand and feedback we received for a potential Switch version.” He also added, “So, the voices are heard, we’re aware that people are desiring a Switch version, and we will make an effort to see what is feasible in the future, though nothing is confirmed or planned.” Oyamada also explained that Square Enix has also heard the demands for a western localization of Seiken Densetsu Collection, which is a collection of the first three Seiken Densetsu games for the Switch. “Obviously, our focus is on Secret of Mana since we’re in the last part of its development, so obviously it’s hard to definitely say that yes, we will release it,” Oyamada had said. “But we’ve obviously heard a lot of demands and requests for that game to be released in the west, and that’s

Square Enix has unveiled some beautiful illustrations for the upcoming Secret of Mana remake. These colorful images, drawn by the talented HACCAN, capture some key moments in the game while showcasing several iconic characters, such as Luka and the super adorable Flammie. While three of these lovely art pieces were revealed gradually on the official Twitter, a couple new illustrations from the game's opening movie were selected and released as well, giving us a small peek into the colorful world of Mana. Secret of Mana is scheduled to release on February 15, 2018 for Steam, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. There will also be a limited supply of physical PS4 copies.
