Final Fantasy VII Remake reveals new gameplay, Tifa, and special editions

At Square Enix’s E3 2019 presentation, Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase took to the stage to detail more about the game. He said remaking the game has allowed them to dive deeper into the world and expand upon it. It includes two Blu-ray discs worth of content.

The game uses a hybrid system that fuses action and strategy. Pressing Square will let you attack. You will build ATB with each attack, and when each bar is full you can enter a tactical mode. This can stop time where you can select abilities from a command menu.

Director Tetusya Nomura took the stage and wanted to extend the team’s gratitude to fans you have supported them. He shared that the game will have playable demo kiosks at the Square Enix’s booth. Nomura then debuted the long version of the Symphonic trailer. In it, we see our first look at Tifa Lockhart as well as entirely new scenes in the scenario.

Square Enix also revealed three editions including a special “Chocobo Chick” summon materia that you’ll get with your pre-order. The Deluxe version ($79.99 USD) will come with a steelbook case, “Cactuar” summon materia DLC, and a mini-soundtrack CD. The 1st Class edition ($329.99 USD) comes with a Cloud on his Hardy Daytona motorbike statue, a “Carbuncle” summon materia, and all the aforementioned gifts.
