The second Final Fantasy XIV video to come out of Gamescom is focused on the Primals – or rather, beasts that are commonly associated with classic Final Fantasy summons.

The video below showcases just two Primal encounters – one by trial and one by participating in a Full Active Time Event. Trials against the Primals are part of the main storyline in A Realm Reborn, and will include a bonus Hard Mode for those looking for a greater challenge at the level cap. In addition to Behemoth and Odin (as seen in the video), players will encounter Ifrit, Garuda, Titan and more.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be available this August 27 for the PlayStation 3 and Windows PC for $39.99 and $29.99, respectively. A free 30-day trial is also included for new accounts, with monthly subscriptions starting at $12.99. The game is also in development for the PlayStation 4 and due to release sometime in 2014.
