We’ve gotten various bits and pieces of what would become the Visual Works created CGI cinematic opening to Lightning Returns, but now the entire thing has been posted online in Japanese and English thanks to Square Enix.

Tonight as apart of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy GO THERE stage at Tokyo Game Show, Producer Yoshinori Kitase shared new details on the game’s collaboration costumes – including an Aerith Gainsborough outfit alongside her previously announced Solider 1st Class garb. Following that, Kitase shared the opening cinematic for the game – which depicts Lightning as she enters the city of Yusnaan and confronts Snow – the two locked in a struggle that ultimately doesn’t end well for Lightning’s sword. Following this cinematic, the game’s tutorial will begin and Lightning will have to chase after Snow as players learn the ins and outs of the game’s updated battle mechanics.

With just two months to go, those interested in importing the game in time for its domestic launch on November 21st will be happy to know Play-Asia has opened pre-orderes for both the Japanese PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions – with the former being region free. Also available is the Lightning Returns Play Arts Kai, and Original Soundtrack – currently penned in for this November.
