The Final Fantasy XV TGS trailer is a mash-up of E3's announcement videos

There may not be any new information concerning Final Fantasy XV at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, but attendees can at least catch a glimpse of the trailer that took E3 by storm some months ago.

According to reports from the show floor, the trailer Square Enix has on display at their booth is largely the same as what we saw back in June, albeit with some minor differences. The trailer seems to be slightly revised – basically they’ve gone and mashed up the original announcement trailer and the gameplay trailers with a tiny bit of additional footage.

When Noctis is running toward Leviathan, we now see him fall off the bridge after being attacked by the beast, and a later scene shows Ignis speaking to him through a communicator. Other than that, there’s really nothing ground-breaking here. Nomura stressed we’d see no new information on the game at the show and he was definitely right. However, Square Enix did send us a press release along with some older screenshots which described XV’s battle systems as “strategic substitutions [that] add tactical depth to the series’ signature party-based combat.”
