As the final sendoff to the Final Fantasy XIII series, Lightning Returns gathers up most of the cast from the previous two games in an attempt to wrap everything up – or so we hope. Another familiar face is joining the fray this week as Famitsu and Jump both shine the spotlight on FFXIII’s Cid Raines.

Raines – who served as an important NPC in the first game – is back for Lightning Returns sporting his original appearance. He’ll serve as a sort of spokesperson for the thoughts of the dead. Serah Farron and Caius Ballad will also be back, and both will prove to have some importance to the overall story.

Famitsu also has an extended look at Bhunivelze – the god of light whom many in the game worship.
