PS4 owners will finally have a chance to play Final Fantasy XIV on their brand new consoles come February 22, 2014 when the global beta kicks off in celebration of Japan’s next generation launch. The wait for the full release, however, will be a bit longer.
Confirmed this morning during Sony Japan’s PlayStation Awards livestream, President Hiroshi Kawano revealed the game will launch some time in April, proceeded by a brief look at the game running on the PS4 and running on the PS Vita via remote play.
As part of the 11th installment of Producer Letter LIVE, Naoki Yoshida will demonstrate the new PlayStation 4 system version at 4:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Saturday, December 14th, 2013. Other featured highlights will include content from the major Patch 2.1 update, scheduled to be released on Tuesday, December 17th: “The Wolves’ Den,” “Treasure Hunting,” and “Daily Beast Tribe Quests.”
