Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call confirmed for the West

Square Enix have today announced that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call will be heading towards North America and Europe in 2014, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS system. This rhythm role-playing game is a follow up to the original Theatrhythm Final Fantasy on Nintendo 3DS which was released back in 2012. The sequel will feature over 200 songs and 60 playable characters from throughout the Final Fantasy franchise, including spinoff titles Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Final Fantasy Tactics, as well as the newer FF installments, such as Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call comes out in Japan this week on April 24th and will deliver another musical homage to the FF series, this time with new gameplay modes: Versus Battle Mode, where players can compete head-to-head with friends and other users, and it will also include Quest Medley Mode from the original iOS version, allowing players to choose short, medium and long quests and face different challenges.

“Music is an integral part of FINAL FANTASY,” said producer, Ichiro Hazama. “As with the previous title, we wanted to shine the spotlight on that music for fans to re-experience their favorite moments from across the entire Final Fantasy catalogue.”

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call will be available in North America & Europe later this year for $39.99.
