The original Dragon Quest out now on mobile platforms

After a 14 year hiatus, the original Dragon Quest is making a come back to American shores through both Android and iOS platforms. Originally released outside Japan as Dragon Warrior for the Nintendo Entertainment System and later on for the Game Boy Color, Dragon Quest players begin their voyage as the “Hero,” a descendent of the valiant hero Erdrick. As they journey through the historic realm of Alefgard, players must tackle fearsome foes and adventure through perplex dungeons on their way to the trepid Dragonlord’s lair. After defeating an abundance of enemies, players can explore greater distances and complete additional quests.

“Dragon Quest is an extremely pivotal title within the industry; not only was it one of the first highly successful turn-based RPG’s, but it also spawned the successful franchise and set the standard for all other role-playing video games,” said Noriyoshi Fujimoto, the producer of the mobile Dragon Quest series. “We are thrilled to bring the legend of Dragon Quest to mobile devices and cannot wait for new and old fans to rediscover the RPG that won the hearts of two generations.”

Dragon Quest is out now on the App Store and Google Play for the reasonable price of $2.99.
