Wan Hazmer discusses what it's like to be a lead game designer for Final Fantasy XV

Wan Hazmer is in charge of what goes into Final Fantasy XV’s large world. Having gained a bit of attention following his adventures at Comic Fiesta in Malaysia as well as his his own blog, in which he has recently commented on the development of the game, Haz – as he says he’d like to be called – has brought about a bit of attention to himself somewhat irregular for an employee at Square Enix.

Today, a new video has been published detailing a new interview in which Hazmer explains how and why he became a game designer and his current task of creating the realistic world inside Final Fantasy XV. Inspired by the fantastical ideas presented in the film, Back to the Future Part II, Hazmer explains his idea behind the creative process and the goal of obtaining a “clash of culture while remaining realistic” when it comes to designing otherworldly towns such as the recently revealed Lestallum.

Because Final Fantasy XV has been a long project, Hazmer stresses the team is “really getting there” and when it finally hits store shelves he thinks fans will love it.

Note that this is only part one of Travel Garage TV’s interview. The second half will be published some time next week.
