Square Enix releases a new Luminous Studio 1.5 Tech Demo

The video, sitting at just over 5 minutes, shows off some of the lighting capabilities and methods for creating situations within the Luminous Studio engine. Specifically, it’s more like a Developer Diary for Final Fantasy XV, with various team members discussing the lengths they went to in order to create realistic lighting, particle effects, and spaces within the game.

For example, in order to create the cave scene from Episode Duscae, they had team members explore an actual tight-fit cave in order to get the feel and body motions correct. The video does show off a few new things, such as shots of a large city and a few close-up visuals of the car and of Cidney’s resting movements. Other than that,  lot of it is behind-the-scenes footage of areas and scenes from Episode Duscae. Definitely worth a watch though!
