Kingdom Hearts 2.9 for PS3 and PS4 might possibly be a thing

The name “Kingdom Hearts 2.9” isn’t entirely unfamiliar for those who paid attention to E3 this year. The name – alongside Kingdom Hearts III – was temporarily listed on an event schedule during this year’s show before it was swiftly removed. Was it an honest error? Well, a new listing appearing today seems to suggest otherwise.

Richard VanDeventer – a former Square Enix employee living in Osaka – has listed the game for both PS3 and PS4 on his LinkedIn resume. The listing puts him as a game designer on the project, specifically working on aspects such as game idea planning and documentation, game check and balance, boss planning as well as Attraction Flow planning and documentation.

His profile also includes a summary of his work on Kingdom Hearts III including mentions of multiplayer planning and communication between Disney and Pixar.

VanDeventer also worked at companies such as Comcept and is credited at both Capcom and Game Republic for working on Resident Evil 6 and Knight’s Contract respectively. His online portfolio can be viewed here.
