Dragon Quest XI's story is complete, release goal set for series' 30th anniversary

While Dragon Quest XI was largely absent from tonight’s 30th anniversary celebrations, Square Enix and Yuji Horii decided to provide a brief update on the game near the end of the presentation.

According to Horii, the story for the game has already been completed and the goal is to finally release the game during the Dragon Quest series 30th anniversary. That anniversary, he clarified, runs from May 27, 2016 until May 27, 2017. That means we may not be seeing Dragon Quest XI until some time next year.

Further updates on the PS4 and 3DS project are expected at a later date.
