Camp, caravan or stay at a high class resort in Final Fantasy XV

Various lodging accommodations in Final Fantasy XV are essential to Noctis and friends on their journey across the land. Throughout the game you can stay in a number of places including camps, caravans and inns.

As we learned in Episode Duscae, camping is only possible in marked locations where enemies can’t roam. During camp, you can rest up and eat for free, accruing party buffs by eating some of Ignis’ cooking. Of course, you’ll need to gather ingredients for him to cook.

Caravans are lodgings located throughout the game world. It’s a fairly cheap place to stay and comes with various bonuses depending where you go. The downside to staying at one, however, is you can’t sample Ignis’ food and thus receive no party buffs.

Throughout the world, you’ll also find basic motels and super high class resorts known as inns. These are great because they provide useful bonuses as well as a resting place. The drawback is, once again, no party buffs through Ignis’ cooking and they’re typically more costly to stay at.

Ignis’ cooking is only available during camp-outs and the taste is comparable to a first class chef. Eating his cooking grants the party buffs for the next day’s outing. Ingredients can be gathered through battle and exploration and when you find one you haven’t obtained before, Ignis can learn new recipes. Chocobos can also get fed at camps to boost their levels.

At hotel and diner locations you can eat meals you won’t find anywhere else.
