No Season Pass for the Final Fantasy XV Ultimate Collector's Edition

Final Fantasy XV‘s hefty Ultimate Collector’s Edition won’t come bundled with the game’s recently announced Season Pass, Square Enix confirmed today. Fielding fan questions at a community event in Germany, director Hajime Tabata shared the bad news.

“Sadly no,” said Tabata while on stage. “Unfortunately ‘ultimate’ doesn’t mean ‘ultimate and more.'” He added, “And we looked into making more of the Ultimate Collector’s Edition but we were told we still can’t.” The UCE, which comes housed with a number of items, includes the game, a Noctis figure, Kingsglaive and Brotherhood on blu-ray, an artbook, soundtrack and some downloadable add-ons for $270. If you want the Season Pass on top of that, you’ll need to shell out an additional $25.

The only version of the game bundled with the Season Pass – for now – is the Digital Premium Edition, available for pre-order on both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
