NieR: Automata x Final Fantasy XV collaboration announced By Erren Van Duine on November 22, 2016 at 12:25 AM

Final Fantasy XV and NieR: Automata are teaming up for a special collaboration of sorts, Square Enix revealed today. NieR: Automata protagonist YoRHa No.2 Type B will have access to the Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV – the iconic sword wielded by main character Noctis.

The Engine Blade will look just like its FFXV counterpart and come equipped with its own evasion effect. The sword’s visual effects and damage count style will also be a direct copy from Final Fantasy XV. There may also be a Weapon Story involved with it.

Of course, Final Fantasy XV will also feature some sort of NieR: Automata tie-in, with details expected at a later date.

UPDATE: Famitsu has posted a teaser image of the upcoming collaboration as part of their exclusive coverage – revealing protagonist 2B equipped with the Engine Blade, but purposely pixelated for surprise-related reasons.
