Final Fantasy XIV Patch 4.1 Sightseeing Guide

The first major content patch after Final Fantasy XIV‘s Stormblood expansion arrives on Tuesday, October 10th. Titled “The Legend Returns”, the patch will include a wealth of new content and features including the continuation of the main scenario, a return to Ivalice, new dungeon and trial, housing in Shirogane, and much more.

  • Housing – Shirogane
    Small, medium, and large plots can be purchased in Shirogane, accessible via Kugane. Apartments can be purchased in the zone’s Kobai Goten building. Free companies and individuals can use the new Relocation service to move from one housing zone to another. Furnishings must be placed in storage prior to relocation and repositioned after.

Quality of Life

  • Adjustments to combat actions belonging to the the following classes, jobs, and roles have been made: Warrior, Lancer/Dragoon, Ninja, Machinist, Arcanist/Summoner, Arcanist/Scholar, magic ranged DPS, and healer Role.
  • PVP actions have been added, adjusted, or removed for Warrior, Dragoon, Bard, Machinist, Red Mage, and Astrologian. PvP duties will now yield more PvP experience points. The Feast (4 on 4 – Training Match) has been added to the duty finder.
  • Aetherflow, Draw, Royal Road, and Spread will now display as status icons when their associated actions are used.
  • You can now attempt to remove materia from your gear and return it to your inventory by selecting the Retrieve Materia subcommand on equipment. Note: the success rate will depend on the tier of materia being removed.
  • Expert Roulette will include Ala Mhigo, Kugane Castle, The Temple of the Fist, and The Drowned City of Skalla
  • The Crystal Tower and Shadow of Mhach alliance raids have been added to an Alliance Roulette. The Labyrinth of the Ancients will now only require three tanks, one from each alliance party. The weekly loot lockout on Mhachi matter has been removed. The time until boss areas seal in alliance raids has been increased from 15 seconds to 30 seconds.
  • You can use the Party Finder to recruit players for Alliance Raids from other Worlds in the same data center. An option has also been added to simplify the information in the party finder.
  • You can now add friends and send tells to friends in other Worlds with the same data center.
  • Anima Weapons added in the Heavensward patch series will gain more aetheric condensation from completing duties, and the number of duties contributing to condensation has been increased. Lux replica Anima Weapons can be purchased from the Restoration Node in Azys Lla.
  • Beast Tribe Currencies have been added to the Currency tab and will be tallied there. Any beast tribe currency in your inventory can be converted by exchanging them for Beast Tribe Currency Promissory Notes — which can be done by a Calamity Salvager or a Beast Tribe Vendor of that respective currency. Combat jobs Level 50 and above will now gain Allagan Tomestones of Poetics when completing Vanu Vanu and Gnath beast tribe quests.
  • Ventures have been added to the Currency tab and will be tallied there. Any ventures inventory can be converted by exchanging them for Venture Promissory Notes — which can be done by a Calamity Salvager or any of your retainers. Ventures will no longer be rewarded from A Realm Reborn-era treasure maps.
  • Custom Deliveries have been added to the Challenge Log. The weekly reset for Custom Deliveries has been changed from Thursdays at 1am PDT to Tuesdays at 1am PDT.
  • Enemies in Level 15-49, 51-59 have had their HP adjusted.
  • Level 50-58 Tradecraft Leves will now reward more experience points.
  • Desynthesis success rates have been adjusted for items introduced in Heavensward and Stormblood. Desynthesis level required will now be displayed in an item’s tooltip.
  • New gathering, fishing, and spearfishing locations have been added to Stormblood zones.
  • New emotes have been added including: /atease, /attention, /beam, /box, /breathcontrol, /concentrate, /converse, /disturbed, /groundsit, /pushups, /ritualprayer, /simper, /situps, /squats
  • New hairstyles have been added.
  • The Sleipnir mount can now fly and a special action has been added to the witch’s broom mount.
  • Glamours can now be unlocked at Level 15 via the “A Self-improving Man” quest.
  • You now can summon companions and minions at the same time. The time remaining on a chocobo companion has been added to the party window.
  • A new tab-targeting type has been added where enemies selected will be “based on a cone shape originating from the position of the camera.”
  • Adjustments have been made to the visual representation of the Job Gauge and you can now toggle a simplifed version.
  • Up to 10 status effects can be displayed in the party list now.
  • Use /bahamutsize to adjust the size of Demi-Bahamut.

Points of Interest

  • Entrance to the Hidden Canals of Uznair can be gained by using a timeworn thief’s map found in the Lost Canals of Uznair. Progressing through the Hidden Canals works similarly to the Lost Canals, but you will now have three doors to choose from. Additions and adjustments to rewards have been made in the Lost Canals.
  • After you complete a certain main scenario quest, you will be able to return to the Royal Menagerie area by speaking to an attendant in the Ala Mhigan Quarter (X:36.4 Y:32.1)
  • After you complete the “Tide Goes in, Imperials Go Out” main scenario quest, two NPCs will allow you to travel quickly between Sakazuki and Onokoro in The Ruby Tide.
  • Each housing zone now has an area where you can swim.
  • New vistas have been added to the Sightseeing Log.
  • New MGP prizes and Triple Triad cards are available at the Gold Saucer.

Final Fantasy XIV is now available for Windows PC, Steam, Mac, and PlayStation 4.
