  • If the first game is just Midgard and not every single inch of it, that’s gonna be a short and boring game. I’m sorry, but at least have the game lead up to the boat ride to Costa-del-sol.

  • Wazi the pa

Well, they did say in the presentation the first game will take place in Midgar and considering how much content they’re making for it (2 blu ray discs worth), I wouldn’t worry for it being short.

  • Still the setting always being dark and no trees and no dungeons… I need variety…
I’m guessing they’ll just be a level cap and about a few extra areas and longer time in scenes.

  • Wazi the pa

Yeah, it’ll be interesting to hear how they will deal with level capping.

  • i say do it like dothack gu, 50 levels per game and go over 100

  • Randy Marsh

Considering that they were partnering with CC2 because of their works on the .hack series, that is most likely the route they’re going for.

  • i hope so, in star ocean 3 the max is 244, so i know they can do it

  • empirefall

wow, this ‘is’ a ‘remake’, yeah

  • empirefall

“2 Blu-ray discs worth” but was that solely in reference to the game or the game and bonus content?

  • empirefall

you know what, seeing as you brought up Star Ocean 3, you know what I hate about that game, all the pointless busy work (level grind) that they give the player, it vexes the heck out of me, rather than weaving the level grinding into the story, no, it is level grinding just for the sake of level grinding

  • empirefall

regarding Jessy’s armour, I don’t think women need a protective metal plate for each breast

  • empirefall

I am really impressed that they threw in some command-based gameplay into an action RPG
which is an issue that really divided the fan-base

  • Wazi the pa

There was no talk of bonus content; what Kitase referred to is the core game content.

  • Only in the post game.
Only time they force you to lvl grind during main story is when a new character joins and they 10 levels lower than everyone. That happens to all the new arrivals.

  • Randy Marsh

244? Silly Kokayi-005, thinking so inside the box. Why do that when they can do so much more? How about level 777?!

  • empirefall

what I was referring to are the periods inbetween story segments, where the player finds themselves in an open area in the game and are given a puzzle to solve, this is done solely so that the player will run into a few encounters and level up, I hate that ####, it is so blatantly obvious that the developers put that into the game just to keep the player busy, I find it so annoying, examples of that are: the mine cart puzzle, the hydration puzzle, the light puzzle, the maze like puzzle, the dragon sign puzzle, etc, honestly, once I actually finish that game, I am going to delete the .iso file right off the computer and never play it again, I like the music but the gameplay and the story are just meh

  • Foolish sexually inferior Randy Marsh. Why stop there when they can pull a disgaea and have 9999 as the last level. 13 had level caps so maybe it’s time for super high levels

  • Randy Marsh

LOL. Yeah, no thanks on that one. Idk I hope their cap will just be like 120 or 150.

  • James Stine

    It’s just a video game.

  • empirefall

oh my goodness this game looks amazing!
I liked it when Cloud is knocked to the ground by Don Corneo’s pe,
then Tifa steps in and begins pummeling the heck out it with beat down

POW! POW! POW! that was awesome!

  • empirefall

the reveal trailer showed Midgard in the day,
I am certain portions of the game will be set during the daylight

  • Maybe you can go up top to the nobles and see parks and trees and gardens.
