Tabata on why Final Fantasy XV was delayed

Despite the disappointment and outrage following rumors and finally an official confirmation, Final Fantasy XV‘s been delayed for a good reason. Speaking with director Hajime Tabata at Gamescom this month, PlayStation Access uncovered the latest on the challenges the development team still faces with now additional two months to get things done.

Within the next two months the team plans on fixing a number of issues in the game at the moment. “They don’t affect gameplay progression at all but there are small cosmetic things,” said Tabata in a video interview. “Things like the position that some characters are displayed in is not quite right. Or there are some things that flicker a little bit and there are a few things there which affect the visual quality. These problems and issues are all going to be fixed within these two months.

“There are a few other issues which effect the overall gameplay flow in some way. Things, for example, where the optimization process wasn’t as 100% as it could have been. Or you get some loading to come into the game where it really shouldn’t. Those other technical issues are going to be fixed as well.”

We’ve the full interview below, along with some additional information on Final Fantasy XV‘s magic systems, outfit customization and more.
