Final Fantasy XV fifth week Japanese sales figures

Final Fantasy XV is making its way toward 900K physical units sold in Japan according to Media Create. In a new report provided by the sales tracking service, the game shifted a further 30,381 copies on PS4 from December 26 through January 1 – putting the cumulative total at 884,422.

On the opposite end, Famitsu’s report puts the game at 29,367 units for a total of 889,494 copies sold on PS4 since launch. Both sets of numbers indicate a strong hold for Final Fantasy XV during the end of the holiday season as it edges closer to its initial shipment of one million units in the region.

Note these numbers don’t include digital copies or the Xbox One version, which has fallen out of both lists after moving 3,791 copies its first week. We’ll likely hear more on that front soon though as full year sales charts start to roll in.

Final Fantasy XV is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Square Enix recently released a new update for the game, adding in features such as New Game+ and a Holiday DLC pack including a number of game-boosting items. The company plans on issuing further free updates to add in cutscenes and other content throughout the year.
